After the shocking ending of Sinful Desire, I was eager to jump into Sinful Longing. However, it doesn't pick up where the previous book left off. That epilogue actually happens in the middle of the book, meaning most of it is taking place concurrently. Which is fine, but I needed to know more about Marcus! Plus, the romance was just doing nothing for me. It's like we're thrown into the middle of everything since Colin and Elle already have a kind of relationship going on. There's no build up. It's just them having a lot of sex before Elle finally decides to date him for real. There was no time for me to really get to know either of them or them as a couple.
As for the suspense plot, nothing much happens. Like I said, Marcus introduces himself toward the middle. This prompts the predictable drama, since Elle knew about him but didn't tell Colin. But he should have known that she couldn't tell him because of confidentiality! His feelings are not more important than her job ethics! Get over it! On top of that, some arrests are made, but that's all kind of in the background. Like, hey we just caught some random bad guys! The end! What?!
Sinful Longing was just disappointing all around. But the ending? Yep, another shocking twist!
