Full of suspense, Killer Harvest deals with a single mother, a biologist in Central California, who is thrust into a world of intrigue and terrorists.
Sassa was nicknamed Sassy Sassa by her boss, and fittingly so. Her failed marriage had taught her the importance of standing up for herself and especially for her faith. Her biggest regret was allowing herself to marry a man who didn't share her faith and she was determined never to do that again!
Jared had come out of a troubled childhood, with a mother who needed more care than she was able to give. After being rescued from that by his grandfather, his life turned around and yet he felt that the God his grandfather loved didn't really care for him. He was more concerned with getting ahead in his career and tried to find satisfaction in it.
When Sassa and Jared are thrown together to create the pathogen the terrorists are seeking, Jared is challenged about his view of God by the feisty scientist.
I liked the story and the characters. It was so fun to see Jared caring for baby Keri so naturally as Sassa worked in the lab. His strong protective instincts made him so appealing!
As with the other stories in the Love Inspired Suspense line, Killer Harvest has just the right blend of suspense and romance to give it plenty of interest throughout without being too edge-of-the-seat or gory. I still don't quite get why her boss, Sam, had created this pathogen in the first place but without that, we wouldn't have this fun story, so who am I to complain!
If you enjoy romantic suspense with characters who turn to God, Killer Harvest is a great choice.
Can she stop a deadly crop virus from ending up in the wrong hands?
