Jack's favourite place is his grandfather's shed, an upside-down boat on the beach. It is there that he learns about boats and sailing, about his great-grandfather who was a sailor, and about the old church organ. And it is there that Grandad helps him build the raft that he will sail in the great race. It might be the smallest raft in the race but with some helping hands and the magic of the sea, Jack wins the race.
