Emma (SCR)
A remote Scottish castle on a snowy Christmas Eve. A handsome husband-to-be. A dress to die for. It should have been the happiest day of Leah Harvey’s life – but the fairytale wedding turns sour when she finds her fiancé halfway up the bridesmaid’s skirt just hours before the ceremony!
Fleeing the scene in a blizzard, Leah ends up stranded at the nearest cottage, where she collapses into the arms of its inhabitant – a man so handsome she thinks she must have died and gone to heaven!
And when Rob Cavelli suddenly finds himself with an armful of soaking wet, freezing cold, and absolutely gorgeous bride on the run, he’s more than happy to welcome her into his snowbound cottage this Christmas…
Firstly thank you to Harper Impulse for accepting my request via Netgalley. As soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb I knew I had to read this book.
We start of on Christmas Eve in snowy Scotland. Leah has just ran out on her wedding after finding her fiancé and her bridesmaid in a rather compromising position. The car of course runs out of petrol. Leah had only grabbed her purse and nothing else. Still dressed in her wedding dress and wearing her ridiculous high heels she realises she needs to make it across a field to a small cottage she can just about see.
I really liked Leah, she is feisty and strong but she is also a bit damaged. There are things from her past that she beats herself up for which are not her fault.
Once Leah finally makes it across the field she knocks on the door and passes out on the delectable Rob Cavelli. Rob Cavelli is gorgeous. He is sexy and hot and I tell you if I pass out I would love for him to be the one to catch me. Rob has holed himself up in this remote cottage in Scotland on his own at Christmas. Why you ask? well you will have to read the book for that but I can't think of a worse way to spend Christmas. Rob like Leah is also damaged, he too beats himself up for things that happened in his past that were not his fault.
There were a lovely array of supporting characters in this book. I really liked Mamma Cavelli, while she may have been a bit of a medler she had good intentions. Now If I couldn't pass out on Rob Cavelli my second choice would most definitely be his brother Marco, hot and sexy and all things naughty.
Debbie had me gripped from the first few pages of this book. The opening scene was so funny and I honestly didn't want to put it down to get off the bus to go to work. There was a morning when I actually almost missed my stop because I was so engrossed. I absolutely loved the ending of this book and couldn't thought of a better way to finish this story.
I hope that there will be a lot more books to come from Debbie in the future.
