Quirky Cat

This volume covers a lot of material, all things considered. For one thing, it has the introduction of one of my favorite characters: Gran Torino. First, that All Might is afraid of him is sort of hilarious (in a good way, that is). And the way Deku meets him is pretty memorable, to put it lightly.
I think that Gran Torino is perfect for Deku, in many ways. All Might had too easy of a time learning All for One, and thus he is not an ideal teacher for Deku. Telling him to picture an egg in a microwave will only get him so far, for example. It's going to be baby steps, I know, but at least it's progress.
It also continues the Hero Killer plot that had been started back during the UA tournament. The confrontations and conversations that occur with the Hero Killer may be a little bit surprising, but they did a great job of showing his motivations and general regard for other villains.
