Okay, so a couple of things about this book. It wasn't my favourite by Andrew Grey, I'm not saying it was bad, because it wasn't, but I've read other works by the same author that were better. That being said, I loved how this story gripped you right in the first chapter. In mere moments of reading, you're already invested in Billy Joe and trying to figure out what he saw which made him take his son and run away from home as far and fast as he can. As I went on through the story I found myself wishing that the characters would do things a bit differently when it came to how they handled the negative people in their lives, however, ultimately I was happy with how things ended and while I'm not necessarily wanting more from these characters specifically, the happy ending after a book of angst made me want to read more from Andrew Grey.
