Whenever December rolls around, in the past few years, I have come to look forward to one thing: a new Katie Fforde short story. Staying Away At Christmas, From Scotland With Love… two delightful little tales to warm the cold December nights (yes, Tenerife does have cold December nights, sometimes!). So I was mightily pleased to see Katie have a new release this year and even more excited that it wasn’t just one short story, but a whole bunch of them included in her new collection A Christmas Feast.

Katie introduces the collection, saying that it features some of her magazine stories (none of which I had read – I had only read the two aforementioned above which were included) so it was a delight to have numerous short stories to read on quick reading breaks whilst working. I appreciated the fact that previously released Fforde short stories were included (Staying Away At Christmas, From Scotland With Love, The Undercover Cook) as well as a new story aptly titled A Christmas Feast!

There was also a bit from her new book A Vintage Wedding, which I didn’t read because it’s still a ways off and I don’t like sampler chapters too much. But it was a delicious collection of offerings, and nice to sample in fits and starts, which you need sometimes.
