Catullus (circa 84-54 BC) is one of the most attractive and approachable of Roman poets. His verses range from the bawdy and outrageous to the tender and passionate, from the deepest melancholy to wildest invective. Many of his phrases are catchwords today - "Odi et amo" (words writ on water). This edition is specifically designed for students studying Catullus for the first time.
