The Lost Saint is a lot more action packed than the first book. Grace is trying to get a handle on her new super strength and speed, so of course she has to test it out at times. She goes looking for her brother in a seedy part of town, and has to defend herself and her friend April. Then her training sessions with Talbot are essentially out in the field, since he tells her about the existence of demons and how to fight them. I really liked this introduction of another one of the supernatural races. Those demons have been causing chaos in town, and no one is trying to stop them except for Grace and Talbot. That's a pretty big job for just two wolves, especially since there's more going on than just some vandalism.
I'm so glad The Lost Saint didn't fall into the Middle Book trap. Things are actually resolved in this sequel! I won't tell you what, but Grace gets things done! It's not one of those situations where the characters wind up exactly where they started. Some stuff does stay the same, but that's a good thing! Since some things could have gone horribly wrong! There was another surprise ending, too! Poor, Daniel! But I have faith that Grace will figure out how to fix this! I mean, there is only one book left...
