While the premise is interesting, I found it incredibly difficult to feel like reading the book. I don't care for the characters and it was written more like a 1st person game walkthru. What I found interesting about the book (idea of choosing a second life in virtual reality, the story of the quests and activities Laith was undertaking) was washed out in the character bragging about how awesome his character is and talking about the various attacks he was doing. It kind of made sense for this obsession about fight details (DoS, Dead Man's Hand, DoS) in the beginning as he was beginning to get used to the world, but the entire book was like that. Less interesting than playing a game, I tell you. And despite being moderately interested in what will happen with the altar and hound business, I will not continue with the series.
