The chapter headings say it all 'Dogs & Cats', 'Bats', 'Eyes', 'Ears', 'Gums', 'Lips', 'Genitalia', 'Duck Beak', 'Poisonous Fish', 'Gold' and many more. This is an interesting, pacy, informative, and yes, occasionally stomach-churning look at food from around the world. There's the odd recipe thrown in too, recipes that, strangely, Delia has never turned her hand to - 'Camel Hoof Paste' or 'Roasted Cockchafer Grubs in Coconut Milk' for instance What the reader soon comes to realise however is that whilst one audience might find some of these dishes unpalatable and in some cases offensive, other readers might be equally offended at what you're eating - 'Black pudding, anyone?'. The conclusion therefore is that one man's steak and beer is another man's bull's balls pie and mango urine lassi.
