Garry Egger's Professor Trim Quick Start Weight Loss Program initiative offers a series of weight loss and maintenance programmes designed to be undertaken over the course of 12 months under the medical supervision of more than 1000 GPs throughout Australia. The aim is slow, steady and sustained weight loss with an initial three individual programmes that have been designed for: families with one or more members who need to lose weight; those who suffer diabetes-related weight problems; and women who want to lose weight pre-pregnancy in order to protect the health of their babies and themselves. For many women who are wanting to conceive, or who are in the early stages of pregnancy, weight loss is an issue fraught with uncertainty. How much weight should you lose before conceiving; how much weight should you gain when pregnant; how fast should you lose the weight afterwards; and how do you do it without compromising your own long-term health, let alone that of your baby?
With the endorsement and ongoing supervision of local GPs, Garry Eggers has developed these long-term weight loss programmes to: provide a balanced, medically supervised approach to weight loss; involve no crash diets, tricks, fads or gimmicks; provide a programme that can be tailored to the individual needs of a client or family, taking into account their lifestyle, medical history and weight loss goals; provide advice and guidelines that will supplement that given by GPs and childbirth specialists; concentrate on long-term maintenance, not just short-term weight loss; and provide 12 months' care and supervision with the Professor Trim team and the client's own GP.
