Shaken to the Core is more Historical than Romance, but I was okay with that. I feel like all of the details of this historic event were really well done. It's a fascinating time in history and lends itself to a lot of different stories, particularly those that show how people from various backgrounds all came together to help each other survive this disaster. Kate and Guilianna are complete opposites in terms of their social situations, but that doesn't stop them from taking care of each other and those in need, and then falling in love. Of course, I do wish there had been more kissing (and more), but their relationship developed very sweetly and we're left with this sense of this is just the beginning of great things for them.
If you like 20th Century History, sweet romances, and ladies kissing, then I'd definitely recommend Shaken to the Core. In addition to the amazing setting and the romance, there's also a lot of good stuff about how women are just as capable as men. Kate's biggest dream is to be a newspaper photographer, and ironically it's the fact that men think women can't handle the job that allows her to get the pictures she needs to land the job!
