The land west of the Mississippi was a wild and untamed land. It took lawmen, outlaws, storekeepers, farmers, soldiers, teachers, bar girls, and strong willed women to tame this vast country. There are stories of the willingness of some to overcome the hardships that were thrust upon them. There are also stories of those who brought law and order to the west. Although the stories in this book are fiction, they show the determination of the men and women to take a wild and open land and make it a place to live and grow.
