I couldn't find myself very interested in this book. The prologue, more like a short story written in a myth-like style, was much more engaging than the novel itself, as the classic sci fi writing style seems to fit a shorter work better, in my opinion. The writing doesn't take the time to really plunge into the world, cultures, etc. It rather skims on the surface of it all, gliding from event to event without any real emotional impact. Nothing was personal enough and characters had no character and could be completely interchangeable.
I think this just wasn't for me.
