The children of the Science Club are happily working when a flash of lightning and a rumble of thunder outside make them jump! Their teacher, Mrs Khan, explains that lightning is a form of electricity and encourages the children to think of other types of electricity and what they are used for. The children also investigate electricity through rubbing balloons, making torches and building circuits.

It's the end of the day at the Science Club and Emily is startled by a spooky shadow! The Science Club start investigating their latest topic - light - what it is, where it comes from and how we use it to see. They also discover what reflections are, how shadows are made and why rainbows form in the sky. They round off their project by making a fun shadow puppet theatre.
