This is a CD-ROM (Mac version) which presents a multimedia experience of natural disasters around the world. It features volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, flash-floods and dust-storms and is intended to assist children to find out why, when and where natural disasters happen, and how people are affected by them. The text can be used to support study in physical and human gepgraphy, history, science, information technology and environmental studies and is designed for Key Stage 2 and 3 Science and Technology. The CD has the following key features: an index available from all screens to help the user find information in seconds; a glossary which is easily accessed from all screens; curriculum notes highlighting the statements in the National Curriculum; a user guide containing technical advice; tips on how to use the disk; and narration which helps to explain the text, animation or video.
