This introduction to tarot for absolute beginners presumes no previous knowledge. It includes basic information on what type of cards to obtain and where to buy them, and an introduction to the specialist terminology. It also explains the meanings of the cards in upright and reversed positions - major and minor arcana; takes the reader through swords, wands, cups and pentacles; and looks at some of the spreads available, leading up to a practice reading. Other features of the book include: the links between exploring the tarot with exploring one's inner self; the links between tarot, astrology and numerology; regular question sections for self-testing of understanding; and sample spreads to build the beginner's confidence in interpretation.
