This provides an introduction to version 5.0 of Aldus PageMaker, the layout program. The text outlines the essential basics and impressive capabilities of PageMaker 5.0, including its many new features and enhancements. This text is intended for Macintosh users at beginner or intermediate level. The Visual Quickstart Guides take a visual approach using pictures to guide the reader through the software. They aim to provide just exactly what users need to know. This teaches PageMaker's core everyday features and covers all version five's features both new and old. About one third of each book is devoted to menu reference sections. New features covered include: free rotation of text and graphics; ability to work with multiple files open; built in colour separations; fast printing; improved palette selection; improved integration.
This reference guide uses pictures rather than lengthy explanations to provide a comprehensive introduction to Works 3 for Windows. It is set out in sections, the first describes and outlines the features common to each module. The next reviews the word processor, spreadsheet and database modules, showing users how to create documents, format worksheets and create and customize databases. The final chapter integrates the first chapters and shows how the "WorksWizard" (three internconnected hand-holding guides) help users to accomplish the task quickly and effectively. New features include Object Linking and Embedding, WYSIWYG, and up to 400% magnification. Three new chapters review the word processor, spreadsheet and database modules of Works 3.

This text brings users up-to-date with Word 6 and features step-by-step instructions and many illustrations. Word 6 is a word processor on the Windows platform. This release includes a new user interface, comprising multi-tool bars, "wizard" help features and preset links with other Windows applications.
