I borrowed this from the library to read towards one of my 2017 reading challenges. Other than some Superman stuff, I haven't read much from DC Comics. I've seen most of the recent movies and found them to be mostly good, but I don't know how they compare with the stories as I haven't read them. With this in mind I thought I'd give this small collection a try.

This volume is part of 'The New 52' series and contains the origins of twelve DC characters, some of which I was more familiar with than others - Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Harley Quinn, to name a few. I can't really comment on how these stories line-up with previous versions, but, on the whole, this volume was a fairly enjoyable read. Also, the only artist I was familiar with was Jeff Lemire, as I have a few of his books already, but nothing that he has done for DC Comics.

I'd like to read more of the stories in 'The New 52', so I'll need to check and see if our library had any more of them. I can't see me buying any of them, unless the price is right, as I really wouldn't know where to begin.
