Midnight in Death picks up exactly where Holiday in Death left off, and New York is being hit with another serial killer on Christmas Day. This time though, it’s an escaped convict that Eve put away three years ago. He’s back to take out everyone involved with his arrest and conviction. Eve is his grand finale, but that doesn’t mean she’s going into hiding. She’s going to do her best to stop him from taking out those ahead of her on his hit list.

Midnight in Death was super quick and it moved really fast. It was a good, suspenseful read, but I felt like it was over before it really began. There’s not much background, because this is someone Eve is already familiar with. There’s no piecing together of clues, because she’s out to recapture him. I was nervous toward the end because he gets his hands on someone important to Eve, but then the big take down was over within ten seconds and the story was over. I do wish there had been a bit more, or even if it had been the next full length mystery.
