The beginning cracked me up. Loved her humour and descriptions and my thoughts were - wow this book might be perfect for me. Then I got past the beginning and it was a little too predictable. The author gives clues to every plot line and revelation. As soon as a character has a thought or says something, I am already guessing where it's going and I was right every time.
Some of the inner monologue dragged making me get to the end of a paragraph and try and remember what I had just read.
Loved the characters felt their connection was real. Felt the secrets were drawn out too long, but loved their reconciliations. I finished this book on a high which is is why I gave it 4 stars, but felt the middle needed to be tightened up a little.
Still a fan of Penny Reid and I'm going to do a little searching to find what Ms Cosway has under her belt.
