Wow. What a ride! I was just gonna read the first chapter to see if I liked it or not and suddenly I found myself at the beginning of chapter 34. Yeah, that happened.
I really really liked this book. It was incredibly fast paced and there was so much going on all the time. It was very sci-fi oriented, just as I was expecting and it didn't let me down at all. The whole idea about the ores was really good, although it was a little confusing with all the different colors - I hope to get to know more about that in the next book.
The characters were great, I especially liked Nate, he was a great character. I wasn't the biggest fan of Adin and I was glad he didn't appear more than he did.
As far as the writing style goes, I was a little confused from time to time - it was like I couldn't always tell who was the narrator even though I knew it.
