Turns out this is how I read already (good news? bad?), tripped up all over words (Fitzgerald, always using the wrong ones so right), reading the whole of books in the first sentence (the good ones), throwing books across the room (figuratively) when they can’t tell me all about themselves in a line about something else. And for the most part she stays away from all the arbitrary rules of writing that you’re only meant to break (like here, cracking the spines of sentences), turning to St. Chekov for guidance like I turn to Hempel and Bowles.

Still, just “eh.” Maybe because it was nothing so novel, to me. I can see someone else really getting a kick out of it, though.
