Fall From India Place (On Dublin Street, #4)

I am a huge fan of Samantha Young’s On Dublin Street series and was excited for the opportunity to review Fall from India Place the fourth book of the series. Young brings complex characters and compelling twists that allow you to lose yourself in the story. I admired Hannah and fell in love with Marco D’Alessandro. The tale was hot, gave me the feels and had me up late finishing this tale.

My coffee dates with Fall from India Place

First date: Ooo this is a second chance romance. From the beginning, we know things went terribly wrong the last time Marco and Hannah were together. Young takes her time allowing us to get to know Hannah and her recovery from Marco. She was young when he hurt her. It is not revealed to later, and I had a sense of what it was..nevertheless, Young added a painful twist I never saw coming. We get flashback memories of her friendship and feelings for Marco. These were sweet and added depth. Hannah hasn’t heard from Marco since he left Scotland so imagine the surprise when she spies him at a friend’s wedding. Their reactions have me eager to learn more.

Second date: Marco is determined to explain to Hannah why he left, and she is equally determined not to let him. She fears her feelings for him and has some unanswered anger and hurt. The dance was not an easy one and seeing Marco’s determination to talk to her was hilarious at times. Hannah’s emotions were all over the place from rational to longing. It is obvious things are not over for these too. When they connect physically, you can feel their emotional connection and the heat..whoa baby. It was smoking hot. Young knows how to write these scenes. I just wish these two could talk about the complicated stuff as easily as they can melt the pages.

Third date: Once these two talk and begin to rekindle the tale gets hawt with sweet moments and I was, swooning. But these two both haven’t come clean, and obstacles stand in their way. While I understand, Hannah’s need to protect herself the miscommunication made me a little crazy. She has a tendency to run or close up when faced with too many emotions. I realize she is protecting herself and yes; things have not been easy..but talk it through. I give Marco credit for knowing Hannah so well. He sees her anger and coldness for what it is “a carefully constructed wall to protect herself.” It is so dang obvious these two love each other. The secrets and unresolved issues were so heartbreaking. While I am not a huge fan of drama, and angst, Young made it feel realistic. Thankfully, I was not rolling my eyes. Instead, I was wiping away the tears. Oh yeah, she gave me the “feels.”

Fall from India Place was one hot roller coaster ride. I fell in love with these characters and enjoyed how complex and fleshed out they were. Secondary characters and those from past books all added to the mix. Kudos to Young for including supportive family members and a strong network of friends. I truly enjoyed this tale and all the emotions that came with it. Somebody get me a truffle.
