This was an interesting one because it was different from the mystery thrillers I've read recently. The setup is very different because the narrator is Lizzie who has just been killed and you get her perspective on how her life has led up to that moment. Then it unfolds through different characters' perspectives. I also appreciated hearing a story from someone who grew up in poverty and has felt like an outsider her entire life. Then there is Adrienne, a social media influencer, and her very rich husband who are connected to the case as they have been renting the cabin that Lizzie owns. I don't want to say much more other than I enjoyed it but didn't feel as pulled in as I have other thrillers. Partly because I have been reading quite a few dark books with unlikeable characters lately and I did find myself not caring at times especially in the middle. Also, you have to suspend reality quite a bit because I didn't find the twist believable. Normally I can completely overlook how believable a plot point is but I struggled with this one for some reason. I am glad I finished though because It's a short book at under 300 pages and I like how it ended. I have very mixed feelings about this one.
