In true Malia fashion, I've started this series so late meaning that Dillon's story is the first I've read from the Opposites Attract series. AND this is my first time read from Rachel Higginson and I definitely can't wait to go back and read the rest of this series.Dillon's destructive and care-free past starts this book off and there's a major spotlight on her vulnerabilities. It was honestly such a painful and sad beginning for this book, but it definitely got me to understand her character a lot and why she did the things that she did.
I wasn't expecting for this to be a bit of a slow burn and I was hoping for a bit more on the romance front. I adored every scene between Dillon and Vann. I never felt so giddy while reading a book, I swear, they're just adorable!
Vann was seriously a breath of fresh air, I couldn't get enough of his blunt honesty and how much of a health nut he was. It was so hilarious, but I was alllll for it. I loved what he brought out of Dillon, he kind of helped her to be bold in every aspect of her life. He definitely had some things wrong about her. When he made his thoughts known to her, she set out to prove him wrong. It was a bit of a backwards attempt to do things out of her comfort zone, but it worked and she came out better for it.
Ahhhh these two, forever tip-toeing around the inevitable. But with Dillon's insecurities holding back, she's constantly running in the other direction whenever it comes to Vann. He's a bit of an unique character with not only his honesty, but he was never looking for something serious and always went for the nice/good girl. Even with the insane chemistry sizzling between them.
Dillon and Vann are so perfect for each other and they definitely bring out the best in one another. I truly loved their story and like I've said before, it made me so giddy like high school crush, giddy! Just wanted to wrap them up and hug them forever ha.
I can't wait to get to the beginning and read about everyone else's love story!
Major thank you to Rachel Higginson for the reader's copy!
