A good first book to pick up on how to take care of houseplants. I have killed most of mine in the past since, um, I never really researched how to properly take care of them, so I appreciated it (especially the sections on pest control), and the diy projects were cool. Got this as a library read, probably wouldn't get a copy to keep on hand as a reference as many more in depth ones exist out there. If you want something that isn't massive and intimidating to get going with plant parenthood, though, this is a great option.
