Hooked on Trouble by Kelly Siskind

Hooked on Trouble (Over the Top, #3)

by Kelly Siskind

Reality bites. Hard. The last time Raven did "real" was sixteen months ago, when she spent one unforgettable night with the tattooed, impossibly sexy Nico, and then he disappeared the next day. Since then, she's kept her guard up and her feelings to herself. She doesn't have time for relationship drama when she's busy searching for her long lost sister. Nico hasn't stopped thinking about Raven---her sultry curves, inked skin, or the fact that he ditched her after their night together. Now that they're living in the same city, he knows this is his chance to make things right. What better way to prove to Raven he's for real than helping her find her sister? But when the lines between right and wrong start to blur, putting his job on the line, Nico has to decide if the risk is worth the ultimate reward. Raven had met Nico on a trip to Aspen. It was there she let herself be vulnerable and be open with a man, but Nico left and never called or texted. Raven is still holding a grudge against Nico, but he finally starts pushing, wanting her attention. And it just so happens Nico, being in the force, has the connections to help Raven find the sister that left her so many years ago.

I've been wanting Nico and Raven's story for a while now and I'm super happy to finally have it. I loved that Nico was so persistent with Raven. I think it was the only way to really get her back. That woman can hold grudges like no one else. But Nico worms his way back in her life and helps her with finding her sister, Rose. Seeing Raven make mistakes, made her more real for me. In the previous book, she just seemed like a force to be reckoned with and like she could take on the world. She totally can, but seeing her be vulnerable (in her POV) and make mistakes, had me feeling for her a lot and rooting for her! She ended up with a lot of character growth towards the end, which is always a big plus for me in books. Nico is totally amazing! I was kind of hating the guy (just a tiny bit) in the previous book, but seeing things in his perspective and seeing how big of a softy this tough, big man really is, had my heart melting and wanting him to have his HEA. I also loved his family and how fun they are.

The friendships were even better in this book! I loved seeing Lily in the book and seeing her get uncomfortable with the girls was very funny. She's totally the cutie of the bunch. She and Sawyer's banter was in this story and it made me miss this couple a lot! I was very happy with the way the series ended and the little confession that Shay and Kolton make towards the end. I think it fit the story perfectly and it came to a great conclusion.

Overall, Hooked on Trouble is a light and fun story about hope and forgiveness.
