A Child's Gift by Linda Warren

A Child's Gift (Texas Rebels, #8) (Harlequin LP Heartwarming)

by Linda Warren

Will an abandoned child bring them together?

Or tear them apart?

Cowboy Jericho Johnson lives a good life working on the Rebel family’s Texas ranch. All he’s missing is a wonderful woman like Anamarie Wiznowski. But Rico’s troubled past and Ana’s disapproving family conspire against them. When Rico is named guardian to a four-year-old boy, he asks Ana for help. And suddenly, he’s falling faster than Christmas snow…for Ana, sweet little Dusty and life as a family man!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Prism Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.A Child's Gift by Linda Warren is my first book from Ms. Warren, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around how fabulous it is.

Will Dusty find his forever home?

Jericho Johnson

Jericho "Rico" Johnson is a man in his forties that has had a tough life. His mom was a drug addict; he was raised by his great-grandma, dealt with gangs, and ended up in jail.  But now he has been trying to make a life for himself in Horseshoe, Texas. Rico has been beating around the bush (for two years) to ask Anamarie on a date. He finally does on the day that they met Dustin "Dusty" Miller. A little boy that they both immediately love. Rico grows a bit from being this brooding character to something else to finally being a nice guy.

Anamarie Wiznowski

Anamarie Wiznowski is a woman in her forties that is one of many children in the Wiznowski family. She has lived in Horseshoe, Texas, her whole life. Ana is a baker and has been working in her mom's bakery since she was a teenager in high school. It's because of Rico that she stands up to her mom and finds a child that she can love with all of her heart. The one thing that I didn't like about her is that she didn't trust Rico enough and treated him similar to how her mom did.

Four Stars

A Child's Gift by Linda Warren is the newest book in the Texas Rebel series, and it is about a ranch hand finally getting the family and life he deserved. Rico and Ana have both been through a lot of twists and turns throughout their lives, but they made it out okay. I am giving this a rating of four stars and recommending it to everyone who reads contemporary romance novels with cowboys.
