So Tough to Tame (Jackson Hole, #3)

by Victoria Dahl

Charlie Allington is supposed to be on the fast track to the top--a small-town girl who was making it big in her career. Instead, she's reeling from a scandal that's pretty much burned all her bridges. Now, out of options, she needs a place to lick her wounds and figure out her future. True, working at a ski resort in rugged Jackson Hole, Wyoming, isn't her dream job. But if there's one perk to coming back, it's a certain sexy hometown boy who knows how to make a girl feel welcome.

I love Victoria Dahl’s novels, her entire Jackson series so far has been really awesome, with romances that pretty much blew me away. So I was really excited about Victoria’s third Jackson novel, So Tough To Tame. It’s been on my Kindle for months and I thought I had ages left before it was out but I noticed the other day that it’s out already so I decided I had to read it next, obviously.

So Tough To Tame introduces us to Walker. He appeared in the first coupla books and I was so excited for him to get his own book! He’s always been in the fringes so I was so excited to get to know him properly. We also meet Charlotte, who was Walker’s childhood friend, and who has recently had to move back to town after a big scandal in Tahoe. They’re both keeping secrets from the other, secrets that could destroy the little fling they have bubbling under the surface, and which could see the two of the navigating a real relationship for the first time in their lives, if Charlotte and Walker can tame each other…

I really enjoyed So Tough To Tame, it was a super quick and fun read. The romance between Walker and Charlie was hot, hot, hot, and I love the setting of Jackson. I keep saying I’m going to move there and bag myself a cowboy. I love catching up on the previous characters, too – Rayleen, Jenny, Grace, Merry, Shane, Cole, it’s so warming to know that when you go back to one of the Jackson books you’re meeting new people, yes, but you’re also getting to catch up with the old ones too. So Tough To Tame seemed a bit more serious than the other two, with what happens to Charlie being really, really awful and I thought she totally didn’t deserve it. I loved reading about Charlie’s new job, though, I’ve never read about a girl security specialist.

I’m so excited for three more Jackson books starting next year, I’m so excited to see who we’re going to meet, and fall in love with next! Walker and Charlie were so awesome. Dahl is such a talented writer and I always enjoy her books, her writing style is just so fantastic and just so readable and I could read her all day long. If you’ve read the other two Jackson books (and even if you haven’t) then you must read So Tough To Tame. I enjoyed it so much, and you will, too!
