This book just ripped me to shreds. I actually read it in one series late into the night. I was sobbing in my bed beside my sleeping husband. What a sight I must have been. I couldn't stop thinking about it and still can't. There are no words. Rachel Van Dyken has somehow taken a series I adored from the first book and has me even more enthralled as she rolls out each book.

Elude is book #6 in the Eagle Elite series. Every one of these books has gotten better and better which in my opinion doesn't happen in a series often. You need to read all of these books from the first one with Nixon and Trace. Everybook stars a different couple for the most part but they are part of the larger Mafia family that these books follow.

Elude follows Sergio who is a cousin of Nixon Abandanto and a ghost. Andi is the daughter of a Russian Mob Boss. They both turned on their families to work for the Feds but fate has spun quickly on them and Sergio and Andi are getting married so that the Abandanto Family can protect Andi from her father. Sergio can't stand the idea. He doesn't want to feel anything period and especially for Andi. Sergio is like a dead man walking and it saddens Andi to no end. She doesn't understand how he can give up on life so easily. She is determined to help him see the light because unlike Sergio Andi is actually dying. She is sick and only has a small moment of time left.

The bickering between Andi and Sergio made me laugh out loud. Not to mention you throw in the rest of the family and the laughs just keep rolling. Watching Andi bring Sergio around was beyond heartwarming and it reminds us all that life is a precious gift that we should cherish and enjoy because you just don't know how long you have not only for yourself but all of your loved ones as well.

The ending of this book crushed me but it put a smile on my face. I think that speaks volumes for Rachel Van Dyken's writing that I was crying but with a smile on my face. Rachel, kuddos to you. You nailed this one and Sergio is my new favorite Mafia book. I can't wait to see what happens next and I know you won't keep us waiting too long! I can't tell readers enough to pick up this series. Hands down....one of my all time favorites.
