Guardians of the Galaxy (2019) #1

I have been waiting MONTHS for this series to drop. For one thing, all of the adverts for it have been making it look really interesting. For another, the characters! Have you seen the characters they’ve been teasing for this? We’re talking characters like Beta Ray Bill, Ghost Rider (Frank Castle), Darkhawk (eee!) and so many others.
I’ve been really good about following all of the Guardians of the Galaxy series lately, so admittedly me reading this one was probably a given. However, even if it hadn’t been, I would absolutely be reading this series in hopes that it means more Darkhawk appearances. I really want him to join a team like this, and think it’d be really interesting. Seeing him and Beta Ray Bill on the same team would be pretty interesting, you have to admit.
I’ll admit that the series did not start off in a way that I expected it to. I think I like this way more though, so I’m not complaining. It’s an interesting twist. Though I should mention that it ties heavily with what happened during Infinity Wars. Especially with how it began and what state everyone was in at the end.
I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes. They left a lot of questions hanging, including the biggest one: what the heck happened to half the people that showed up to that meeting? There’s no way they’re just gone…so one has to wonder what their side of the story is going to be like.
