A new YA fantasy series to fall in love with. This had a Hunger Game type feel to it. The heroine, Alina, doesn't have much to be happy about and you can almost feel the struggle she has with her feelings. Her disappointment at being separated from her best friend Mal to her confusion about her feelings for the Darklings. I was very hard to put this book down.
