Just a few weeks ago I read and devoured Losing It by Cora Carmack. It was an amazing novel, and it cemented my new found love of the New Adult genre, by far one of the best new genres, ever. It’s right in my age bracket and it’s amazing. So when I saw Cora’s new novel Faking It was available to download from Edelweiss, I nearly died of happiness and I knew I’d start reading it as soon as it reached my Kindle! I duly started reading it and I think I enjoyed Max and Cade’s story more than Bliss and Garrick’s! It was utterly amazing.

I really enjoyed Faking It. As you can tell from the title of the novel, it’s about faking a relationship. Max likes bad boys. They’re her thing. But her parents would freak if they knew she was dating someone with tattoos and piercings, so when her parents arrive in Philly without warning, Max knows she needs a clean-cut boyfriend ASAP. Cade Winston is the perfect good guy. He’s wholesome and because he’s an actor, he can easily play the doting boyfriend down to a T. Max convinces Cade to play-act being her boyfriend, but when things start to heat up between them, how much longer will they be faking it?

Faking It was amazing! I really love that New Adult heroines aren’t clean-cut. They’re not perfect. They have tattoos (like me!) and they’re regular twenty-somethings. Max was amazing, I loved her. I want to be like her! Mostly for Cade, I suppose, but I loved Max’s fearlessness and even if it was an act, a facade, it’s still a pretty impressive thing to pull off. I wish I were more fearless, less worried of what people think of me, how people perceive me etc. and Max summed all that up for me. And Cade! What can I say about Cade other than OMG? We didn’t really see much of him in Losing It, but he knocked me sideways in Faking It. SIDEWAYS. He blew me away! I loved him. I loved that he was mostly perfect, that he was a gentleman, that he charmed Max’s parents, but that he wasn’t arrogant with it. At all. He was just… Cade. I think I prefer Cade to Garrick, which if you’d asked me that after Losing It I’d never have said that, but he was amazing and the chemistry between him and Max was electric.

I LOVED Faking It. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe this wonderful novel. It’s hot, the chemistry is electric – seriously, it practically jumps off the page! – and the characters are fantastic. I’d like to see a bit more of Cade’s best friend Milo, I think he deserves his own book! Cora Carmack is one of the best New Adult authors out there, and her writing is so real (as you’d expect since she’s a twenty-something, too). I keep saying this but New Adult is where it’s at right now and it’s awesome. I could sit and read it all day, and I’d read anything Cora Carmack writes, I’ll tell you that now. Losing It and Faking It were such amazing novels and she just gets better with every novel. I adored Max and I adored Cade, and they were just sooooooo perfect for each other. I can’t wait for Finding It, Kelsey’s story. Read Faking It, you won’t regret it.
