Unlike the previous volumes, I read 4 & 5 back to back and the only reason for this is once again a cliffhanger ending.

The previous volume sort of focused on some characters in bigger details, this one did as well, BUT if was mostly the conclusion of the battle and in turn Franklin’s Game. If we go revelation wise, or the cleverness of Sakon Kaidou’s writing then he doesn’t actually get the bigger chances to do that here. Not because of an ability issue, it’s more of the timing and the actual happenings. Battle wise, I don’t believe that when it comes to Ray we’re seeing different things, however, I will applaud the author’s incentive to give me a different kind of battle when it comes to him.

I think the thing I enjoyed the most here was seeing how the plans were foiled, who was an active member in all of them, having my suspicions confirmed about both Franklin and Hugo and of course seeing what else our mad scientist has in store. I did hope for more superiors to join the fight and make their appearance worth while if you will but I think that because of what actually happened so far, I believe that this could be enough to include as many as possible.

The real event here though is the King of Destruction and what was confirmed for everyone who paid 10% attention while reading the previous volumes. I haven’t seen an entrance this badass in a while so consider me extremely happy to be hyped for it. And best part? He didn’t disappoint whatsoever!

Although I don’t think it’s a bad volume with what was presented and how it concluded, I still don’t see that much of a point for the battle or rather the arc to have continued into volume 5 and have that full volume be for one instance. Yes, it’s a big instance, but my feelings remain unchanged. This makes me think about the anime, ending it anywhere before this volume will leave a very bad taste in anyone’s mouth if there is no sequel after it. Ending it here gives it a pseudo conclusion, and in turn makes you excited for what else to come based on the revealed new characters and what was hinted about the game itself so hopefully it will be fun.
