Kate has had a crush on Shane before her best friend Rachel met him, but Shane was never interested in Kate that way. Shane and Rachel get married and end up having 3 kids with one on the way. Kate pushes aside her feelings for Shane and helps out Rachel while Shane is in the military and away from home. When Rachel dies, Kate wants to help as much as she can with the kids.

This story tore my heart apart. I loved Kate so much and I especially loved how she treated Rachel's kids, who were adorable. Kate still has feelings for Shane and this just broke me. Shane really doesn't want to do anything with Kate at all and most of the time, he treats her like shit. I felt so bad for Kate because she literally stopped living her life so she could be a part of the kids life, and their father isn't grateful at all.

But I have to admit I was rooting for Kate and Shane. The few glimpses I got of Shane without the tough exterior just had me wanting these two characters to get the deed done and hopefully fall for each other. The deed got done, people! But sadly, things didn't get better.

At one point in the story, Shane started doing the pull-and-push thing to Kate, which would hurt her even more! You'd think that for someone being like this, I wouldn't like the story. The thing is, the story would hit all my feels and all those feels clouded whatever reasoning I had and I was just loving this so much. I wanted to cry, but a lot of times I was just smiling.

One important factor of the story is the kids. I adored them! How could I not when they were the cutest and loved their auntie Kate so much? They made the story so enjoyable for me.

Overall, Unbreak My Heart is an amazing story that hits all the feels! You will love and hate and love Shane again. You will want the kids to be your own children. And you will want Kate as a best friend. I know I do!

AUDIOBOOK IMPRESSIONS:
These narrators were fantastic!! Charlotte North did a great job in voicing Kate. When it came to portraying the kids, I knew who was each one with all their different tones. She would also do a great voice for Shane, which impressed me a lot. Alastair as Shane *claps* Fantastic job. When he needed to be vulnerable, his voice would change so much that it would grip your heart! And when Shane had to be stern, Alastair would embody all the sternness of the world into his narrating.

I received the Audiobook from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews.
