I saw this recommend in lieu of American Dirt for a true example of a what the process of becoming a citizen is like, as told by someone who has actually experienced it himself and with his family. I'm glad I picked it up. It is long, and if you like your memoirs more straightforward in narrative and without prose, you may dislike this (it worked really well, though, in my opinion). Definitely an important read, and one I highly recommend. I'll be thinking about this for a while.
