Nora's Ark by Eileen Spinelli

Nora's Ark

by Eileen Spinelli

The weatherman predicted rain. So Nora built an ark. Just like Noah. Well … not just like Noah. He used wood. Nora used a broken attic chair, some dusty boxes, and three old fence slats. And so the story goes as Nora uses her imagination and real-life objects found in her home to follow in Noah’s footsteps. Eileen Spinelli’s Nora’s Ark is a charming, whimsical padded cover board book that introduces young readers to a lovable new heroine. With a metallic cover that shimmers and shines, little ones will fall in love with Nora and her adventures.

I like this book I really do. While it doesn't tell the whole story of Noah, it does give a good starting place for further discussion with your read along child. Nora is full of imagination and what better stories to imagine than directly from the Bible. I enjoy the illustrations and the story of Nora's little ark over and wouldn't hesitate to check for both the author and illustrator's work in the future.

I read an Advance Reader Copy, but would love to have a real one on our shelf.
