So to start, I will be upfront and say I was very confused when I realized that this book would be about Maliki and Nyx. Especially considering I didn't feel like Addy and Zane's "romance" had any closure at the end of  Degenerates. Even after finishing this book I don't feel like the romance aspect of their story felt complete. I found this especially annoying because there was some sort of discord going on between them at several points in this book, and we never get any insight into what was causing it. My other disappointment was the OW stuff. One of the main reasons I love this author so much was that she can write a fantastically fucked up story without cliché other women crap. Sadly, the last few books I have read of hers have more and more OW drama creeping in. I still don't see the point of Darrian being a f-ck buddy of Zane's. Nor did I need to read and have past hookups thrown in my face. However, as always, this is just a personal pet peeve of mine and few people get bothered by this type of thing.

Apart from the aforementioned niggles, I did really enjoy this one. I felt like Maliki and Nyx's relationship was more fleshed out than Addy and Zane's (from book one) and their romance also had better closure going into book three. There were also some good twists and turns that moved the overall storyline forward. And no Natalie Bennett book would be complete without a lot of blood, guts, torture, hot sex, and majorly fucked in the head characters. (lol) So yea...bring on book three!
