If you read my review for book one, you already know my many differences that I had with these characters so far. Naturally, I had to finish the story because some happy ever afters needed to happen. And thankful they did, not that Shanora would ever deprive us of such a thing.

I thought this was a solid conclusion to the Ward Duet . There's still quite some tough situations that go on between Gabby and Kyle, so the trigger warnings are still up. In this book, it became more of Gabby's story. She's been through so much and none of it was easy. And page after page, we're learning so much about her and just watching the growth of her character.

The tone of this book was rather different than what we got in The Man I Can't Have. Even with all the painful things happening, there's a sweet side to everything especially when it comes to Marcel. He's everything that Gabby needed at that moment in time as she's trying to move forward from what she has endured.

I was still a bit frustrated with Gabby and the decisions she kept on making, but I'll also sum this all up with the lack of connection that I've had since the beginning.

Overall, I'm happy that Gabby got the happy ending because she definitely deserved it!

**MAJOR THANK YOU TO THE AUTHOR FOR AN ADVANCED READER'S COPY. IT WAS PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**
