Gone with the Wolf is a pretty standard destined to be together Paranormal Romance, but I still really enjoyed it! Emelia is a struggling bar owner who just learned that some big corporation also holds the deed to her bar. After getting no response on the matter, Emelia manages to get hired as Drake’s temp secretary to take matters into her own hands. However, she doesn’t expect to be attracted to him, and he certainly never expected to find his mate in this manner. Now Drake is torn between business and pleasure, and keeping Emelia safe from his twin brother.

Gone with the Wolf is a lot of fun from the very beginning. Emelia is not shy about going after what she wants and does flirt Drake up a lot even while glaring daggers at the man she believes it out to steal her business. I loved how she didn’t get intimidated by him and continued to fight for what she believed was right, while also getting some hot makeout sessions in. Those two have instant chemistry and it was great seeing them go from hate to love! Although it’s not exactly hate; Emelia is just very passionate about her business and wants it back and this sexy werewolf is in her way.

The plot was surprisingly well developed for being such a short story. Not only do we have Emelia trying to get the deed to her bar back, but Drake’s brother wants control of the pack and he’ll do anything to have it. Of course this means using Emelia as leverage. It’s fairly typical and predictable, but there were a couple of fun surprises along the way. Emelia is no wilting flower even when she’s being held hostage by a mad man!

Gone with the Wolf was just a fun read. Emelia and Drake are wonderful together. The plot moves at a fast paced without feeling underdeveloped. I like how werewolves work in this series, too, so I’m excited to read more.
