I love this series. Still unabashedly bisexual. Acknowledges racial disparity and injustice. Inching, itching, aching character progression. Clever mysteries where you can kinda guess somethings a few pages before Roxanne, but most things, especially the endings are twistedly unexpected. All the characters, relationships, dynamics and their plots are involved and intricate but not convoluted..

I love Roxanne. She's complex and fucked up but always tries to get the truth AND do the right thing. It's not just mental masturbation or pride or a status symbol for her.

This story wasn't as visceral a reaction since there are no dirty cops or sadomasochist rapist murderers. I'm honestly relieved. This story is more about other dysfunctional families, what happens when they intersect, and how sometimes there are no real winners, only victims and survivors.

I cannot wait for more of this series!
