I must confess that I initially I had a hard time getting into the story due to what I considered being a slow start. Eventually at around thirty percent into the story things changed, and I found myself invested in Bones and Sarah’s story. This story will create havoc with your emotions.
This series unlike the other books written by Ms. Foster focuses on issues such as abuse, homelessness and drug addiction. This installment was no different.
Sarah appeared in the previous book where she was involved in a serious accident and the Whiskey family came to her rescue. During this time, Bones became enamoured of her. He knew she was the one for him and he was not about to let her get away. He did not care if she had enough baggage to fill an aeroplane. He willingly lay claim to her baggage. His reaction to Sarah amazed his family as Bones is not the type of person to make rash decisions. He researches things before taking action. From the moment, he willing accepted Sara despite her being a single mom of two and another baby on the way I knew he was special. How many men would do that?
I admired Sarah’s resilience. Despite the tragedies she suffered from childhood to adulthood she remained strong for those who mattered most, her children. I understood why she would have trust issues. The people who she should have been able to trust betrayed in the worst ways possible.
I enjoyed watching Sarah overcome the tragedies of her past and embrace the love that Bones and his family offered her. She learnt that not everyone who did nice things for her had a hidden agenda. I loved seeing his protective side come to light especially with her children.
The display of family bonds warmed my heart. It made me yearned for such an experience. Not once did the Whiskeys judge Sarah, they accepted her for whom she was and even more so when they learnt of her past.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Wicked Whiskey Love is a story that will warm your heart. It is a story about second chances, healing, love and family. This story 0000is one I would recommend to fans of contemporary romance. I cannot wait to read the next book which features Sarah’s sister.
