This started out ok. But by the half way point I couldn't read much more but forced myself to the 75% mark before I read a bunch of negative reviewed that felt the same way I did. Read some reviews that told me what the ending was, and I just couldn't force myself to read past the 80% mark, especially knowing how messed up and stupid the ending was.

It's all a really confusing jumbled mess of things that don't make sense. I was eye rolling so much. NOTHING in this book made sense. And a bunch of reviews have already said what I think. The author didn't research anything at all, and decided at the 80% mark to throw in that her dying mother was going to wear a hijab. And there are no sultans in Syria!! Or wherever the family was originally from.

Beyond disappointed with this book since it sounded pretty good from the blurb. Should have read more reviews, but luckily this was free.
