Wow. I cannot believe that I cried so strongly from reading a children's book, but this is absolutely beautiful. At the back of the book is a letter from Lee Strobel, an author that I have started coming across more and more often explaining the importance of this book to him written by his daughter and her husband. The story line is incredible and touching. A relationship between a grandfather and his grandson on a journey of finding God in the world around him. Artistry from Cory Godbey is so colorful and soft, while vibrant and imaginative at the same time. The one thing that I am ambivalent about is the translation version of the scripture used. The translation is the NIrV (New International Reader's Version). I guess it is because it is a version that I am not familiar with, but I just felt that it did not flow as well as others I prefer. But that is minimalistic.

I love this book. This is an absolute treasure for our permanent shelf. I pray that is will be a book that my daughter wants me to reach for over and over again. I have incredible parents and a good church upbringing, but I do not really remember much talking about God at home. The idea of having this book as a way to open up communication and highlight the places where God is involved in our lives on a day to day basis is incredible. Tears of joy and expectation of the future were brought from reading and sharing this book with my daughter for the first time. I pray that I can be a parent worthy of sharing my faith with my daughter to help her grow knowing about a loving God.
