I am so happy Palacio gave us Julian's POV. One of the things I loved about Wonder, was how the other POVs filled in the gaps so beautifully to give us the full story. I think I needed this novella more than I realized.

Julian and his mother were the "villains" in Wonder, and now at least we know more about why and what happened after. This is a book geared towards middle grades readers, but the themes work for all ages. Forgiveness and redemption are always something I like to see. It comforts me that Julian could make a mistake, but that he could atone and be forgiven.

I shed a bunch of tears during Julian's trip to France. His Grandmère was the standout character in this novella. She was bold and unabashedly honest, and her story was just beautiful.

A lovely additional POV to this wonderful story.
