Can Jolene, with the help of not only her friends but the royals, be able to stop Ludolf Caterwaul?
Jolene and her group of eclectic friends are on the case when a lady dies weirdly at the royal baking competition...again. This time with the old royal bakers in the stands watching. Jolene, Peter, and Daisy are not only on that case but also trying to talk the royals in to help them. Jolene is not only hoping that they will believe her but also that they will help. It's often that a shifter gets to met royalty. For Jolene, it's one nerve-wracking moment after another in this final installment. It's laugh-out-loud funny. Jolene's final character development happens in this book, and I'm ecstatic. Peter is still the good guy that he always has been. It's so cute when both he and Daisy are protective of Jolene. That's right; there is excellent character development for Daisy.
The Mystery
Like I said above, the head baker of a team, consisting of a mom and her twin daughters, dies in the middle of the competition. The mom was poisoned but by what has the police stumped. Jolene and Peter kept on running out of suspects when each was cleared of the murder. It's a thoughtful and exciting way of trying to figure out who could have killed her. I kept on coming back to the way that the sisters kept on giving each other evil looks. Though I won't say it be careful of the red herrings.
5 Stars
The Big Fang Theory by Erin Johnson is both super funny but also super sad. It's the final book of the Magic Market Mysteries series, and I am not sure that I want it to end. I am glad that they were able to finish something that they started at the beginning but also sad since we will no longer get to be with this strange group of friends. Ms. Johnson is a great author, and now I can't wait to see what else she comes up with for her next series. Will it be with Bijou Mer or somewhere else? Will it still be in this world? I guess we will find out when Ms. Johnson decides to bring out the new one. This whole series deserves the 5-star rating, and I'm recommending it to anyone that loves reading cozy paranormal mysteries!
