Turn and Burn is book 5 in Lorelei James other cowboy series (it may be less well know but it is every bit as good) Blacktop Cowboys, about rodeo cowboys. This book is written and can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series as a whole.

In Turn and Burn (a reference to barrel racing) our heroine Tanna Barker is a three time world champion barrel racer, at least she was until an accident put her out of commision. Now she is physically healed but still is still having other problems getting back to the ring, ever since her horse fell on her crushed her she has been terrified of horses. What good is a barrel racer who can't get on a horse?

August Fletcher is one of the local big animal veterinarian's he has spent years building his practice and devoting all his waking hours to it. When he meets Tanna at a bar and they engage in a one night stand he doesn't understand why it upset him so much that she was gone in the morning. When he goes out to the Split Rock during branding a short while later he knows he can't let her run again.

Lorelei James always provides us with sexy cowboys and hot, HOT sex, Turn and Burn is another shining example of why her books are an automatic buy for so many of us. The course to true love never runs smooth and this is once again the case with Tanna and Fletch, it will take both of them compromising what they thought they wanted to make this work. With some sound advise and a bit of sneaky Fletch is assisted on his way by his dad and his office manager. Tanna has her friends at the Split Rock Resort to advise her and to kick her in the fanny when she needs it.
