Dr Harrison MacMasters isn’t only a handsome Scottish doctor, but he is also a spy aiding to keep precious antiquities right where they belong. Grace Winters is a reluctant thief who is just trying to support her sister and do as her aunt says. When Grace is caught in the act by the man she spent a passionate night with a year before, she is forced to work with Harry in exchange for her and her aunt’s freedom.

This is another topsy turvy ride with a hot Scot and his brazen American beauty. This is the third novel in Kingston’s Highland Hearts series, but can be read on its own. Kingston introduced us to both Grace and Harry in book two of the series and I for one am overjoyed that the duo is getting their own adventure.

Grace is basically a professional bridesmaid. I guess that was really a thing back then. If the bride is short on friends, Grace is hired to fill out the numbers. Often at these weddings, Grace and her aunt steal a few precious items they hope will not be missed until they are far from the scene of the crime. At the wedding where Grace and Harry met, she also met another bridesmaid and fellow American, Miss Belle Fairchild. Grace is needed to get close to Belle while Belle prepares for her wedding. With Harry pretending to be Grace’s newly wedded husband, she thinks she will do just that and no more. Well, it doesn’t quite work out that way. The memories of the explosive night they shared together and their fake marriage bring Grace and Harry closer to a real pair of I do’s!

With one twist after another, Kingston kept me enraptured by these characters and their journey. I’m so glad she decided to give Harry and Grace their story and I’m excited to see who she will give us in the next installment of this fabulous series!

I received this book for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
